Claire Massey (nee Wells)

Claire Massey (nee Wells), PhD is an environmental toxicologist with over 7 years of experience in environmental regulation and consultancy. Claire has particular expertise in assessing the fate and effects of chemicals in the environment, deterministic and probabilistic modelling of risks to wildlife and data analysis. Claire manages the environmental aspects of REACH registration projects for wca environment which successfully contributed to the registration of over 400 chemicals in 2010.

She has expertise of the requirements of REACH registration including data review and assessment, robust summary preparation, data gap analysis and design of testing strategies, PNEC derivation and environmental exposure assessments. Claire previously worked for the Environment Agency of England and Wales where duties concentrated on assessing the fate and impacts of chemicals in the environment, and in particular biologically active compounds. This included the review of regulatory risk assessment submissions for pesticides, biocides and veterinary medicines and investigating the use of biological monitoring data to inform environmental quality standards.
