At this difficult and testing time for everyone, I thought it might be useful to highlight the arrangements that wca are putting in place to deal with the Covid-19 outbreak.

As most of our clients, partners and sub-contractors will be aware, wca’s workforce is primarily home-based. This means that it is relatively straightforward for our staff to self-isolate. We have, however, taken the precaution of closing our office in Faringdon for the time being, and put arrangements in place for the staff sited there to also work from home.

We are obviously avoiding all work travel, and therefore will only be available for internet-based meetings until further notice.

We are also fortunate to have not yet experienced any coronavirus related illness within the company itself, and are therefore confident we can continue with Business As Usual for the time being.

Nevertheless, we are living through unpredictable times, and we all need to be realistic about what could occur going forward.

Our routine project management procedures always includes clear successional back-up in the event of the temporary incapacity of lead personnel but, as a small company, any illness can clearly impact us significantly if it affects numerous staff at the same time.

The well being of our staff is our foremost priority and whilst we will endeavour to minimise disruptions to the delivery of work, we must recognise that the coming weeks will be testing times for everyone, in their work and home lives. Therefore, we would be grateful of your understanding and patience if there are some initial delays to work or postponements of some planned work.

To help us schedule our work, we would be grateful, if you could let us know if any key milestones, meetings, deadlines, payment schedules may be postponed and provide us with an updated schedule once this has been agreed.

I will continue to post further blog updates to our website as the situation develops.
