At the end of 2019 I attended a conference on
Current Issues in Contaminated Land hosted by theRoyal Society of Chemistry
and the Society of Brownfield Risk Assessment (SoBRA). The meeting consisted of
high quality presentations on technical issues such as the toxicological
approach to deriving the new Category 4 Screening Levels, benchmark dose
modelling, latest approaches to ground gas risk assessment and breath analysis
to assess exposure to chlorinated hydrocarbons.
The meeting marked the 10th anniversary of SoBRA, established in December 2009 to support professionals from the private, public and academic sectors working in land contamination risk assessment.
